Interesting Facts about Brandon, FL

Brandon began in August 1858 when John Brandon (1809-1886) started purchasing land in the New Hope area (now Brandon). John and his second wife Victoria's house was located on what would become the corner of Knights Avenue and Victoria Street. Four years later, the New Hope Church was built on land donated by Brandon. Besides being the first church in the community, it also served as Brandon's first school. Brandon High School, established in 1914, was the second high school created in Hillsborough County.

Another fun fact is that Brandon, FL is the birthplace of Beef O’ Brady’s restaurant chain which started in 1985 and is now one of the fastest growing kid friendly restaurants in the country.
